IES Borås at the Reading Olympics

On February 23, 2018 IES Borås competed in the annual Reading Olympics held this year in Jönköping. This is a regional event between IES Gothenberg, Jönköping and Borås. Ms Jonsson and Mr Asplund took a group of Junior School Students that read the following books and competed by answering questions about these books:

  • West of the Moon by Margi Preus (Fiction-Folktales, Norway) 213pgs
  • Angel's Grace by Tracey Baptiste (Family-Fiction, Trinidad) 165pgs
  • Inside out and Back Again by Thanhha Lai (Historical Fiction, Vietnam) 272pgs
  • Locomotion by Jacqueline Woodson (Realistic Fiction, U.S.A.) 112pgs
  • The Invisible Boy by Sally Gardner (Fantasy-Fiction, U.K.) 112pgs
  • Secret Friends by Elizabeth Laird (Sad-Fiction, New Zealand) 96pgs
  • The Seer of Shadows by Avi (Historical Fiction, U.S.A.) 208pgs
  • A Long Walk to Water by Linda Sue Park (Non-Fiction, Sudan) 128pgs
  • Shoot-out by Mike Lupica (Sports-Fiction, U.S.A.) 176pgs

Seven teams entered the Reading Olympics. Borås came in 3rd place in the competition. It should also be noted that Borås came in 1st place for having the most fun!
